Volunteering at The Assembly Soup Kitchen @ Hicom – Glenmarie Industrial Park
What is T.A.S.K. (The Assembly Soup Kitchen)?
T.A.S.K.’s vision is to provide food security to the indigenous Orang Asli community, refugees, those in the B40 category and other underserved communities throughout Klang Valley. This volunteer activity in collaboration with T.A.S.K. aligns with and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No 2, ie. Zero Hunger.
What What are the benefits?
Participants will be able to get involved first-hand in the food preparation, packing of food, goods sorting as well and preparing the raw food material. At the end of this session, participants would be able to share this valuable experience with their friends and their communities and help raise awareness on the need for volunteers to assist NGOs in preparing food for those who are in need on a regular basis.
At the end of the session, volunteers:
- would have helped facilitate the provision of food supply for the day to the target communities.
- will better understand the lifecycle of food security programme for needy communities.
- will be able to network and strengthen community ties with those involved in this volunteer event.
Price: FOC for both Members and Non-Members.
