Volunteering with PMI Malaysia Chapter “PMIMY” provides a rewarding opportunity to give back to the project management profession while supporting one of the world’s leading project management organizations.
As a PMIMY volunteer, you’ll connect with like-minded individuals, expand your professional network, and enhance your knowledge base. You’ll also have the chance to share your ideas and skills, helping to facilitate various activities, events, and innovative initiatives. In addition to making a meaningful impact, volunteering allows you to develop and refine your leadership abilities.
PMIMY is proud to have over 100 dedicated volunteers (as of March 2025) contributing to our not-for-profit, member-based organization, both at the national and local levels. The volunteers of PMIMY are organized into the following portfolios and tribes to support chapter operations on a voluntary basis.
The portfolios and tribes for term 2025/26 are categorized as follows:
 
  1. Executive Functions: President Office, Secretary and Treasurer
  2. Professional Project Management Functions: Professional Development and Sustainability Project Management
  3. Outreach Functions: Partnership, Academic, Authorized Training Partners (ATP), Corporate/ Government Outreach.
  4. Event Functions: Major Event, Events & Programs and Social Impact.
  5. Support Functions: Marketing & Communications, Membership, Technology & Cybersecurity and Volunteer Experience
  6. Special Interest Group: Women In Project Management
  7. Location Based: Northern, Southern
