Best Volunteer Awards for Q4 2022:

Esther Shai Jin Yin

WiPM Co-lead & Marketing Communication lead for PMIMY Northern Conference 2022

‘As WiPM co-lead, Esther has been instrumental in all behind the scenes work to ensure all WiPM monthly events are carried out in 2022; this includes preparation work connecting with speakers, setting up the events with WiPM teams, promoting the events via PMIMY social media​ as Marketing Communication lead for PMIMY NC, Esther has gone above and beyond in supporting NC Chair in all NC marketing collaterals – from crafting the design (for event flyers/ backdrop/ eTickets/ speaker posters), copy writing, promoting in PMIMY social media, proposing gifts ideas and connecting with NC vendors to get the best deals. Esther has demonstrated leadership in every possible way – assume full accountability in her role as NC key players. With her involvement, NC was able to leverage eGHL via PMIMY website to overcome the technical challenges and enable purchase of NC ticket w/out having to engage 3rd party (Note: this is a highly manual process as we need to filter for chapter member)

Kee Fung Liew

Publication Tribe’s Website Project Team Member

‘Kee Fung Liew won the Best Volunteer Award attributing to his effort in:​ 

Fully own PMIMY Northern Conference website design and enabling. Despite a new volunteer to chapter, KF is open to new ideas and constantly trying to bring the best experience forward to the website audience. He single-handedly constructs the website from scratch, progressively revise the website content to ensure a successful launch. KF demonstrated ‘can-do’ attitude which makes him very pleasant to work with. ​ 

KF, leveraging on his IT background, has demonstrated the value of growth mindset in attempting new learnings. He dedication and sense of accountability was clearly demonstrated since he stepped up as publication volunteer.’ 

Best Volunteer Awards for Q3 2022:

Harvinderjit Singh Gornam Singh​

Agile Outreach Squad’s Deputy Director

‘Harvin is hard working, meticulous and authentic. Anyone who connects with him will find his is an expert of his field, he breathes in and out only agile and carries agile with him wherever he goes. Even then Harvin does not hesitate to roll up his sleeves and take an active role to support his team members to achieve their goals.​

Harvin approaches everything with logic, he demonstrated an ability to make sensible logic-based proposals and decisions. He always remains calmness with a high attainment of EQ, even though in front of a huge risky challenge i.e. Chapter’s Agile Symposium.​

Harvin as a seasoned agile practitioner, a leader, more than deserved to be recognized for his brilliant mind, inspiring thoughts and selfless contributions to the agile squad, chapter and everyone who has worked together with him.​’

Marccus Low​

Publication Tribe Team Lead​

‘We are very pleased and grateful for Marccus’ contribution in:

  • Phase 1 Website enabling – extending his expertise to ensure timely delivery, going above and beyond to take over the ownership on some of the backend platform in the absence of technology team
  • Enabling Agile Conference website before hand over to S54. Marccus working closely with Benedict to meet regularly with Agile Conference organizing committee/ marcom team to build the website from scratch.
  • Provide coaching to Northern Conference website as part of on-boarding process for new volunteer
  • Part of the monthly highlight enabling team – rolling out Aug’22 monthly highlight and reconnect to PMIMY community

His dedications and sense of responsibility was unparallel since the formation of publication team in Apr’22.’

Shafida Hermy Halamy​

Women in Project Management (WIPM) Core Team Member​

‘We are very pleased and grateful for Shasha’s contributions in:

  • Dedication, commitment and contribution to WIPM, especially in helping to organize WIPM’s International Women’s Day event on 5th March 2022. Shasha was involved in the planning of the event and was also the host for the whole event which included three back-to-back webinar sessions.
  • Shasha also jointly organizes PMIMY’s monthly Clubhouse sessions with Lau Siew Fui every fourth Friday of the month. These Clubhouse sessions cover a variety of topics of general interest to PMIMY members.
  • Shasha actively participates and supports WIPM’s internal discussions and activities and is very passionate about sharing of knowledge and experiences among fellow WIPM volunteers and PMIMY members.’

Shoba Sekaran​

Treasury & Procurement Support​

‘Shoba with her tireless commitment to the chapter, always processing and clearing claims on time, seamlessly juggling this around her work and personal activities.​

As the chapter treasurer, I personally admire her for her positive attitude, kindness, and diligence, even calling and supporting her chapter volunteers in private to enable the tribe activities to run smoothly.​ Long overdue award and recognition!’

Irene Chang Chiew Mun​

‘Irene’s excellent accomplishments:​

  • Providing effective leadership to manage, motivate and inspire the squad volunteers​
  • Helped Malaysia Chapter to achieve LARGE CHAPTER status through the squad volunteers​
  • Effective stakeholder management through constant engagement with Portfolio Director and BOD on the progress.
  • Managed various campaigns (e.g Chapter Guest Pass, Winback, engaging non-members, etc..) to increase the membership numbers.​

A RELIABLE, CONSISTENT, DEPENDABLE volunteer.  ​

Although she will be leaving the portfolio at the end of March 2022 (due to work commitment), we hope that she would re-engage in volunteering once her time permits.’

Pronob Das ​

‘We are pleased and grateful for Pronob’s contributions in:

  • Hard work in leading the team and coordinate with the clients to execute 2 projects throughout Q1 2022:
    • Project Management for Life training with UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei.
    • Project Management for Life training with Penang Science Cluster
  • His dedication and sense of responsibility was unparallel. He was able to pick up and own the task/project, when required.

Moreover, our clients from UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei and Penang Science Cluster have also recognize his contribution in both the above training.

His effort not only contributed to PMIMY effort in giving back to the society, but also upkeep the good name of PMI with his professionalism.’
